In view of the approaching holiday, I’m going to make this a brief and largely procedural posting today. I just wanted to let you know that I have uploaded several new items to the online publication list, including a selection of four short essays regarding the process of educating the PhD. These were composed at a time when I directed the PhD program in business administration at my previous all online University.
It’s kind of a truism of professional life that we want to feel ourselves involved and participating in the work of our organizations and societies. The behavioral sciences have an implicit norm of action associated with their practice. Unlike, say, the humanities, where scholarship essentially provides its own reward, scholarship in the behavioral and social sciences analyzes human action with an eye toward both prediction and control.
Well folks, 21 December 2012 has come and gone, and we’re still here. That’s a good sign. This means that we are now in the 14th Baktun of the Mayan calendar, the start of a new age. A new creation. What that means for the overall state of the world, we can only hope –
